After seeing rickie fowler play so superbly at the ryder cup in celtic manor he looked destined for great thing he had confidence and a touch of class about him. In my opinion he seemed a more intimidating force then our own Rory Mcilroy! Almost two years have passed and Fowler still doesnt have a win to his name! Im very fond of his swing however quirky it may appear as he's a great striker of the ball i just cant put my finger on what hes missing!Any ideas?

He won for the first time last year. But I tend to agree with your sentiment. I lost a lot of money on him over the last 1 and a bit years.

Like yourself, I fancied him to start winning soon. So I hatched a plan to back him every week. After many loses, I threw in the towel. Then he went and won a couple of months later. Go figure:confused:

Yeah i had a 7 match accumulator in the matchplay yesterday 6 of them won and fowler was my last!maybe he is just not giving the game his full atention his interested in motorcross and alot of other stuff!Golf is 100%percent dedication needed in my opinion!

He's only 23, hit's the ball just about as good or not better than most of the pros. Despite his colorful clothing he has a really good temperament. I really think he is going places, a genuine natural golfer ;)

I don't know about you fly but I think I'm going to back him in just about every Open until he retires, if anyone ever looked like they were destined to win one he dose. (maybe Sergio did,but their was no accounting for him being a nutter)

His swing is poor. If you look at his planes and positions it is awful.

until he sorts that out he will never have consistency.

$5,666,848 career earning, only 2 years in the Pga Tour, I reckon he is doing just fine Trampas. He is ranked 38th in the world and has an great "consistent" amateur record.

50 bucks says he will be consistently rich for the rest of his life even if he never changes that swing :p

    His swing is all timing.

If his timing is off his shot is going wild.

He is turning his hands over.

    What do you play off?

Any insight of your own on his swing? or just Nick's?

His short game currently is not good enough to compete with the best and until it is it does not matter how well he hits the ball.

In fairness, i think 24 majors talking there, we should listen.

They don't want to say it out straight. But, you can hear what they are saying.

I think that for the swing he has, it is great when there is no pressure on him and he is in autopilot.
But when he come under the cosh his swing just seems to desert him and this is mainly due to how handsy his swing is.

I'm not sure how anyone outside of US would have thought that Fowler would be as good as McIroy.

In fairness, his Open Championship performace was a total surprise, maybe he played more by feel in wind.

But that open was an odd one with the weather so bad.

By your saying Jim Furyk has a perfect swing.

I am just giving my thoughts on his swing is poor and shouldn't be a swing somebody to style themselves on.

the perfect swing? it's not everything.

Jim Furyk was number 2 in the world when Tiger was dominating. I don't think you can be critical of a player because their swing doesn't follow the rules.

Back on topic, Fowler is young. He'll challenge in the coming years, give the guy a chance.

G-Mac's swing is all "timing" the experts say but he has won quite a few big tournaments. Last year wasn't a great year for him but personally I think that is down to his change from Callaway to Cleveland.

As for Rickie Fowler, I reckon he has the talent but not sure yet if he has the tenacity required. Enjoy him though as he seems a genuine guy.
