    on my laptop.

Have tried deleting it and re-installing but the same thing keeps on happening. Every time I try and open iTunes it freezes for 5 seconds and then crashes.

Anyone know what the hell I can do?

Have you checked your laptop for viruses etc? It may need to be cleaned and only then have iTunes re-installed. Just a thought.

I went throught the same torture recently and decided to get the PC cleaned as iTunes worked perfectly on the laptop for me with the same device connected. So it wasn' t iTunes causing the problem or the device, but the PC itself.

itunes needs a fairly decent spec of a computer to run right

you could try this to see, uninstall, restart, clean system with a adware or some other cleaning app, restart, download new itunes file, install, restart and see what happens

Cheers folks, have tried the above but to no avail, it still won't work and it's driving me mad now!

It's Windows itself that keeps closing iTunes, anyone else have any indication as to what it might be?

    What OS are you running?

Itunes used to wreck my head running on Windows Vista, constant crashes when syncing etc. Upgraded to Win7 and it's been a breeze...

I'm on vista as well. I've noticed that the crashing happens when trying to connect to iTunes store so i turned off my wi-fi and navigated away from the store and it's back working ok.
