Why won't anyone hire me?

Does being a second year student scare them off? Like I won't be there long-term? I have experience, doing a good course, flexible, so I really don't get it.

Not sure if that some sort of joke... but anyway I'm going for all kinds of jobs, Tesco, Pennys(applied for dundrum other day but don't expect positive result) etc.

Sorry to say Edenhazard but they get so many experienced / degree qualified people these days so it is less likely that they might need a second year at college . Years ago when jobs were plentiful and the graduates had jobs to go to , the shops would be crying out for students to fill their short term vacancies . I would not take it personally , keep plugging your cv and you never know when someone will need you :) Good luck !

Supply and demand. There's hundreds of people out there for pretty much every vacancy so the shops can pick and chose (or just randomly select) whoever suits best.

Don't let it get you down. I and many others are experiencing the same thing.

I keep thinking my age is against me, I have years of experience and the qualifications required for what im applying for, however at 42 i keep thinking that they want someone younger.

Its just supply and demand i think, am trying not to let it get to me. Something will come up for you at some point.
