Hello, I was wondering if anyone had some ideas for a good pub wedding reception venue in Dublin or surrounding areas. I'm planning on visiting the Anglers Rest but want to be able to look around and compare prices. Ideas?

    Thanks.

I think Angler's rest is by far the best all round. Other options are the Harbourmaster and the Odeon.

The Leopardstown Inn has a function room and the food is great.

Theres a difference between levels of food. lots of places have function rooms and will do pub food, not that thats a bad thing but it might not be comparing like with like if you went to the anglers rest which, as above, is known for really good food.
halfway house, the other side of the park has a function room too.

Id speak to each manager and ask them and the chef, can they do a tailored menu for you. They should be over the moon to do something like that.

Lep Inn has a fab restaurant not just pub grub.

Where ever you go always ask to try food.

Thanks for the suggestions going to look into them, although it appears the odeon's shut down, or 'on spring break' according to the website.

That's a shame but its more suited to the buffet style wedding and not to a sit down meal like angler's or harbourmaster. Other nice options in Dublin city I like are Fallon and Byrnes, The Pillar room at the Rotunda and Tailor's Hall - the latter two would require caterers.

The Schoolhouse on Haddington Road is nice and does weddings as far as I know. Also Becketts in Leixlip - not strictly a pub but a nice venue.
