Can anyone suggest to me a good supplier of lengths of timber photo frame supplies and frame mounts etc. Looking to make my own frames but need a good supplier who ideally has an online catalogue and will deliver lengths of timber etc.

Unless you've already got machines and saws ready to go, I reckon it'd make more financial sense to just order custom frames?

Photoframes.ie do custom frames, and readymade frames.

I know that's not what you asked, but I don't know of anywhere that'd do lengths. If you're around any timber yards and stuff, you can get skirting, architrave, cornice and pelmet and such in different forms that may be alright. These come in lengths (obviously) but not sure how you'd fare out putting together a frame with them (keep in mind you'd need to put the backing on the frame for hanging/standing, etc. and glass, too.

    Could prove an expensive hobby.

Maybe try http://www.acornframing.com/ They are based near Blanchardstown.

I haven't tried them myself - after a bit of research I figured it was cheaper to buy ready made frames for the quantity I needed.

making fames isnt that difficult with the right kit

depending on how many you need to make - points to different levels of kit

    pro kit.
    morso F
    underpinner
    mount cutter
    panel cutter

    hand tools

    approx 8-10k of kit

but you could spend a grand a get kit, but not pro kit

if you want readymades or custom range specific to you, give me a shout
