    Hi folks,

A will has been written in spain and it names several parties as being benefactors of same will. It is my understanding that ALL parties must get NIE numbers (spanish pps numbers ?) and they must all sign a declaration to allow proceedings to continue.

However if one of the parties does not obtain an NIE number and sign the declaration what happens then ? This will involves a property and it is my understanding that this will be taken by the spanish government if not claimed within a certain timeframe.

Is this the case and can anything be done to exclude this person ?

    Thanks in advance

You need the advice of a Spanish lawyer.

Already have but the service is questionable. The advice is that if all parties do not partake then the house is lost ....

divide the value of the house by "several"
be prepared to get legal advice relative to this amount if you want your share.
