Tiler wont come back and YES he was paid. Anyway, can I get somone to sand down the edges/lips on porcelin tiles?

I think the tiles will crack if you try to sand them, are they all uneven or just a few? you might get away with taking up some of them

You must be livid. I know how you feel. My advice is to break up and remove the offending tiles with a chisel and then lay new tiles in their place. Make sure you match your new grout to the existing grout.

If the tiler was a member of a trade association you might have some recourse with them.

It could well be that the tiles were bad. Unrectified (not square) tiles, or the famous 'banana' tile.

It could be that the floor isn't level underneath. What sizes are the tiles?
30x60 and 60x60 tiles have to be laid on a perfectly level floor. If it isn't the tiles will be uneven as even the smallest imperfection on the floor is highlighted by these sizes tile.

It is not enough to take up a few tiles and replace them, you have to make sure the floor is level or the problem will be the same

did he mention the state of them when he left?. As if the tiles arent expensive enough. I had a local lad a few years ago put down some tiles for me. Horrid muck as well. a few started getting loose, gripfill he had keeping them down. If it was me, id look at taking them up. Grind out the middle of one of them and starting take it up that way maybe. else ull break the borders of good ones. not sure if its the way or not.
