Hi, first post in this forum.

The ACLJ in America fears that Iran may be about to execute Youcef Nadarkhani, a Christian Pastor convicted of apostasy in 2010 for leaving Islam and converting Muslims to Christianity.

Please help to spread the word and please contact the Iranian Embassy to call for his release.

As a complication, Iran is now saying he was also convicted of rape and extortion, but his lawyer says he was only ever charged with apostasy and the court ruling says nothing about these other charges.

    More details

Read about this case before. Terrible stuff but what else would expect from an intolerable country like Iran. Us Christians and westerners are the 'infidels' you know.....

Yes because Europeans/Christianity have/has such a great history of peace both at home and abroad.

Horrible stuff though, shame anyone should face death/punishment for expressing their beliefs.

We were not discussing the Christian church but at least they have learned from their mistakes and stopped burning people years ago . Sharia law is around for as long and I don't see any enlightenment there .

What were Europeans doing around 1300 odd years after the start of their religion? This isn't a pissing contest (and is getting off topic) but you'd swear we were some enlightened people who had no history of violence/brutality.

Let's not forget the christian warmongering Republicans in the US.

"Fighting god's war". Just like The Crusades all over again.
I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator.

Anyone who dares to lay hands on the highest image of the Lord commits sacrilege against the benevolent creator of this miracle and contributes to the expulsion from paradise.

The bible States in the US rank the highest, when it comes to State Executions!

A Christian virtue might be to keep on topic and not derailing threads via Godwin.

Really? Keeping threads on topic is a christian trait now? Christianity ain't what it used to be.

I'm not getting into a pissing contest with anyone about what happened 300 years ago . I am still afraid of sharia law and I would be worried about this pastor because they will execute him also in the last few days the king of Saudi Arabia ordered the arrest if a young journalist who tweeted that he wondered what it would be like to meet Mohammed

Verse 12 Act 7 :And the lord said, "here ye here ye". "Thou shalt not go even slightly OT, thereby derailing threads lest yee want to feel my big hairy wrath".

Also, I don't want to hear any more lies about how Hitler was an Atheist. Happens a lot.

Anyway, those muslins need to be set free from that barbaric religion. They treat apostacy like it was murder. This is what happens when people live their lives by the teachings rules of a very very very old book.

Perhaps you would care to explain what makes Muslim inhabit such barbaric regions, how they could be "liberated", and Afaik there is no expiration dates on books which makes them old.

To be fair, there are Christian countries in Africa which are going to be giving people the death sentence for being homosexual.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of many aspects of Sharia Law, but do remember there are Christian countries with similar stupid laws.

It is absolute madness that this man is sentenced to execution, but as I have seen people a few months back say on this forum (on the homosexuality issue), it's the Law and you should keep to it.

I'm no expert, but the internet seems to be the best way to 'liberate' those behind closed doors. The leaders in these Arab states enjoy the luxuries of the west, like we do, but they hide them from the civilians. The people are kept down. (I'm not saying our country is perfect)

Fiction novels never get old. The Gingerbread Man, The Pied Piper, Treasure Island, etc. . will be enjoyed by children for many many years to come.

But the bible is a book which states facts that cannot be proven. This book is then used to influence laws. This is serious. Just watch any of the speeches and debates by the Republican candidates. All of them except Ron Paul are using their 'faith' as a hook to swing votes. They don't have half as much to say about politics as they do about religion.

Republican candidates try to 'outgod' each other. See who talks to god the most.

Is this all the voters care about? Ron Paul tries to move away from the whole religious aspect and get back to the political side of this political forum.

Thank you to Michael Nugent who, although an atheist, was kind enough to alert Christians to this serious human rights abuse in Iran.

Unfortunately some rather repugnant individuals think this is a suitable thread in which to act the muppet, which is deeply saddening. Congratulations guys, you got the thread locked. You can high five each other.
