Sudden drop in mpg?

Wifes car (Megane 1.5dci) average MPG according to the car has dropped from 52mpg to 45mpg over the last week. Any idea what would cause such a sudden drop? Not sure if it's related but the headlights are also very dim lately, yet fogs are as bright as ever and all other electrics are 100%.

    Cheers.

Thought about that, but wouldn't that cause electrical issues across the board, not just the headlights?

Disconnect the MAF from the Air intake manifold and see if it makes any difference.

Did your 18 y.o. son/daughter start driving it solo? ;)

Any lights on? Could be some sensor or the ECU acting up, or it could be nothing.

Has the car been doing the exact same driving/route etc with the same driver in the last week as it was previously.

Anything put in the boot? Tyres changed? Pressures ok?

Don't think so, the car has shown around 52mpg since new. Rear tires are low on tread and are being replaced today. I'll check if the computer was reset recently, but I don't think so. It was the dim headlights that made me think something may be wrong.

Just realised this corresponded with a full tank from Tesco, Dundrum. Will fill up elsewhere next time and see what happens.

Only 7 mpgs of a difference - it may not be an issue. Id watch it over a longer period. If the car had an unusual bad stint in heavy traffic, this could hit the mpgs. I wonder if the warmer weather recently may be having an effect. My own car certainly seems more alive in colder weather (cold air more O2 dense etc).
