    Hi All

Was looking for some feedback on Malta. Thinking of going away for about 10 days in November, and have been thinking somewhere like Malta might be different. Looking for somewhere with nice climate, not too expensive for food and drink, good nightlife and plenty to do and see. See would really appreciate any thoughts for anyone who has been to Malta to let me know what weather was like and how they got on, and if they could recommend and really nice hotels. Thanks in advance for your time,

    JB

went to Malta 4 years ago, couldnt get over how densely populated the island of malta was, we ended up going out to Gozo which is a stunning island off Malta and much quieter, we stayed in St. Patricks Hotel in Xlendi Bay which was a brilliant hotel in a lovely bay.

Not a bad place to visit but a pain in the ass to live there.

I was based there for 4 months are grew very tired of it.

Think of Italy except with Red post boxes and all that goes along with a british influence.

We went to Qwara during March 2011 and stayed in the Dolmen, weather was okish, it was windy though but Malta is small but very populated. Would recommend going there, food and drink very reasonable priced so much so that i was wondering how they made anything on their breakfast foods. Bus goes everywhere and is very easy to go around all the different places ie Valletta and all the other towns and is about 1 or 2 euros. Overall would recommend it but not sure on nightlife and that. If you want anything else in specific ask

Why did you think it was a pain to live there? Heading out later in the year to live there for a couple of months.

How can that possibly be a bad thing? I'm brimming with curiosity :)

They speak English, drive on the same side of the road as us,use the same plugs, have the same love of roundabouts as we do.

Its Ireland with Sunshine and cheaper,go for it.

It is a nice place and the people are very nice but the gene pool is fairly limited and working there is often a case of 2 steps forward one step back.

We are going to Gozo for 10 days in June. It looks very nice if you like peace and quiet. We will hire a car so we can go around the island and also visit the mainland. We have booked a farmhouse with private pool that we found on ownersdirect.co.uk.

Limited gene pool? As in not enough bUrds? There's half a million people in Malta, surely a bigger gene pool than in, say, Co. Monaghan :D
