Hi, i'm having trouble with my 01 nissan almera. The problem is with the gears.. It's drives perfectly from 1 to 5th but when i try reversing the car the gearstick moves on its own and kinda heads towards the neutral position (doesnt pop out of gear though).. As soon as I let the clutch out i can feel the gearstick moving forward.. and tonight she popped out of 3rd as i came over a tiny ramp..

What could be the problem here? Last thing i need is an expensive repair job :(

Sounds like a failing/failed engine mount might be your culprit.

Sounds like a problem with the linkages, either in the box, (i.e. worn detent springs/gates) which gives you positive gear selection or there is an adjustment on the gear selector cables which might be an idea to try.
There are also common issues with synchro hubs breaking up in Nissan gearboxes, but this doesn't sound like that.
When in doubt get thee to a mechanic

If you hold it in reverse will it stay in or does it still force its way out?

I just went to test it lol.. it still forces it's way out even when i try to hold it.. Another thing is when i'm in gear (say 3rd) anytime i take my foot off the accelerator the gearstick dramatically moves but always stays in gear?
