Direct fit induction kits are engine specific as well as car specific.

Try places like pro-parts, ice-tronix, urban performance etc

You might note that, despite what you may have heard, induction kits do not add power to your engine (with the possible exception of if they are paired with a cold air feed). In fact, many can lose power if they are positioned close to the engine, due to the fact that they pull in more hot air from the engine bay (hot air = less oxygen per air volume =- decreased power and increased fuel consumption).

Chances are, unless you buy a decent kit you'll loose power.

I put one in my car recently, purely because I had one sitting there but the car is definitely down on power. Now when it's mapped it'll be able to breathe far better. On their own an induction kit is a waste of time/money but in conjunction with other mods they're a neccessity

after a bit more research, it would appear that a panel filter would be easier & more appropriate than a cone filter (1.6 vectra)...

is fitting simply a case of switching the paper filter with the panel one?

The factory paper filter is a panel filter:D

The upgraded panel filters just flow a little more air.

Very little, judging my this test. They found that the difference between having an air filter and removing it are close to nothing, and the difference in airflow between different filters is infinitesimal.
