HP Support in Ireland

    Hiya, the girl in the room upstairs has a laptop bought a few weeks ago in France, something is up hardware-wise because it's getting stuck at the Windows 7 loading screen even after a format and clean install. If I was her I'd be demanding a new one, does anyone know what the story is? Does it have to be returned to France or can it be repaired or preferably replaced in our dear old Eireann?

    It's a nice HP Pavillion DV6, core i5, 4gb fast ram, puts my own desktop to shame spec wise. Tried a lot of stuff to fix it (chkdsk, fixboot all that carry on) before resorting to a clean install, tis a shame to see it happen to such a new machine but what can you do.

    We're in Cork if that makes any difference.

    Tried talking the boys on HP chat support but you'd get more useful info from the nearest tame goat.

    Well you may not be entitled to a replacement depending on how old it is. If it's older than 28 days then they can offer a repair. If it's within 28 days you may be able to request a replacement. Some companies offer 21 days instead of 28.

    Many companies take care of customer support via email correspondence, I reckon you should give it a go here.
