Travelling with 5 to French campsite

Am looking into maybe getting the ferry to France and staying in a campsite. I have 3 kids, and have some basic questions. On the ferry, how do you get 3 kids into a single cabin or do we need to book 2 cabins. And on the campsites, what can you stay in that will take 5? Is it a chalet?

Also any general advice would be helpful. We are thinking of going via Roscoff, and driving ehhhh..... somewhere. Kids are 3-7 years old, so usually a beach is necessary, unless the camps have enough to keep them happy.

hi we have done the campsite thing a few years ago in France its great

on the boat get a 4 bed cabin the kids will be able to bunk in with each other if you have to get 2 room you will need to split them up to be safe

on the site get a mobile home you can book a tent but its Basic living lol a standard mobile home is great they would normally have decking bbq all mod cons

as far as what site well look on the west cost you can go north but some times the weather can get wet

good luck we in fact are booking for a large group of friends and family this year in a campsite in Spain but flying in

    hope this helped :)

We used to bring our own tent and get a 4 berth cabin and I would sleep on the floor.

Have done it with the kids. It's too basic though. Caravan with no comforts. No TV, AC, poor quality accomodation with rip off prices. Book an apartment somewhere and fly there. Better holiday for a similar price.

I did a Keycamp with the kids some years ago to St Jean De Monts.
Campsite was good - didn't spend much time in it, only in the evenings when we got back from sight seeing. We had a 3 bed mobile.
The ferry from Cork to Roscoff was excellent, good entertainment for the kids and very relaxing - enjoyed that myself. Cabins were not cramped - the two younger kids shared one bunk. The drive was handy enough to St Jean De Monts. Motorway mostly - the only time you really have to think about what your doing is at roundabouts as you steer right and look left, otherwise driving is fairly intuitave.
Despite the sterotype the french are welcoming and friendly, as long as you make an effort to speak french. Plenty to do and see - France seems to be well organised and clean.
I would recommend a camping holiday
