    Anyone know are these any good as acoustic (ie unplugged) guitars? They look hollow body but seem very thin. I know nothing about these things as they dont do lefties but my son is interested in an acoustic and suggested one of these.

    these are really quiet when not plugged in, as far as i remember. it might be ok for him if he's practicing in a quiet area, but if he's going to be jamming with somebody else who has a "real" acoustic, he's not goin to be heard.
