Old women with full grown beards and old men with hair growing on top of their noses and out their ears. Do they know its there or do they just not care.

No. Usually I'm at least 40 feet away, and use my SAS binoculars so I feel pretty safe about getting caught.

They might see it as a badge of honour, a sign that they have survived on this earth as long as they have.

I read the thread title and went 'yeah, why is that?' :D

I think it really is a case of just no longer caring. Saw a woman a month or so ago in the supermarket that had actual sideburns!

I think they just don't care anymore. Kind of like the way sometimes old people smell. Some of them obviously don't wash daily or their clothes so there is that musty smell that you don't really smell on younger people.

I think it is kind of sad to be honest, to just not care anymore about your appearance. I suppose older people didn't grow up with all the fancy products and what-not... although I imagine most do have or know about tweezers.

    Oh, I don't know... :o

Depression or alcoholism is what my moneys on.
Some women get hairy faces when they have problems with their ovaries.
maybe they just wanna look a bit like walker texas ranger.

Why is it sad to stop caring about what others think of you? I'd like to think that when I'm over 60 I'll be past that stage of my life.

I have two bald patches on either side of my mouth, just can't grow facial hair there so when I ended up talking to a women with more facial hair there all I could think of is how the hell did you do that.

I'm a gentlemen so rested asking and brought up Mach3.

Er, that is now what I meant, I meant it is sad to actually not want to bother looking good for yourself.

It isn't just about what other people think. Taking pride in your appearance makes people feel good about themselves, at least it does for me.

OP, I'd say they couldn't give a flying fook and why should they, lets face it they have nobody to impress and if they want to have a hairy chin tis their right after so many years on this earth!

As long as I'm not asked to shave them I'm fine with it!

Someone I know had a brother called Paddy married to a woman called Ann. She called her brothers wife "Paddy's Ann". Now Ann had more than a few whiskers, she even had full grown sideburns  I nicknamed her "Paddy's man" instead :)

I'm a bit baffled as to why this topic survived and the perfectly reasonable question of why sheep don't shrink got moved to The Cuckoo's Nest

Anyway, on topic, I did briefly consider suggesting you ask in O&O, but really, don't do that you would upset them me. (and Old Goat, and you wouldn't want to upset him...)
