    Hi all,
I'm having major problems with a current install. Nothing seems to work with the ethernet device in the computer. (Intel Corporation Device 1503 (rev 05) ) according to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Google it there's grief everywhere!!

I've tried to install new drivers for it but I keep getting asked to install new linux-headers. When I do make install can't find them.

This : http://sourceforge.net/projects/e1000/ seems to be the latest. But I'm running out of patience fast and need to move on...

Can anyone suggest a debian based distro which doesn't have issues with the Intel LOM adapters.

Update : To install the correct driver for the system I am being asked to install the correct Kernel-development package, which I can't find anywhere.
I've installed generic headers but they don't seem to be what the Make program is looking for, or else it can't find them.

Any one know where I can download the kernel-devel package to a USB stick without using apt-get to I can get it onto this computer with no network connection?
