Video editing software (preferably free)

    Hi everyone;

    I recently got into the Dmitri videos on Youtube (for those of you who don't know about Dmitri, he's the Russian version of the "Downfall" phenomenon.)

    My favourite example is here:

    Anyways, I got the original and I want to make my own Dmitri video, but I don't have any video editing tools.

    In short, I'd like to be able to cut out parts of the video and overlay my own text onto it.

    Can anyone point me to some good tools to do this? Preferably free and easy to use.
