Rent Allowance Location

I currently live on the border of two counties. I'm planning on moving soon and applying for rent allowance.

I was wondering how is it determined what county you're in? The reason I ask is because the rent allowance is higher in one county than the other.

I tried to apply for RA for the place I'm in now but was informed by the CWO that it is in Meath and above the rent limits. If I put the address into the An Post address finder it lists us as Dublin and all my mail gets delivered to Dublin.

So how is it determined? There's a massive difference between Meath and Dublin and not a hope we'd find anywhere for the €550 limit for Meath.

    Thanks

You rent allowance area is decided by your local CWO's area of responsibility.

    as far as I know

It's very confusing as our address is down as Dublin by An Post, our social welfare office is in Kildare and apparently our CWO is in Meath. This is even though there is a welfare office and CWO closer to us in Dublin.

Unfortunately thats the way the CWO's work.
I live in south county Kilkenny, but the CWO works out of Waterford so we are subject to the lower Waterford rates. (Even though all his clinics are in south county Kilkenny).

Sorry I cant be more help
