Hey , I have a small walled garden in the front of my house that I want to knock down and put in a driveway? Do i need permission for that?

Also the path that runs along the front of the house is not sloped for a driveway. I would think that would need to do done also. Do I need permission for that? or need the DCC involved?

    cheers.

Simply, yes, you do need planning permission to knock down the boundary wall to make a new driveway (or to widen an existing driveway/vehicular access).

You don't need planning permission as such to dish the footpath but if you do get planning permission for the new driveway then you can contact/apply to DCC to dish the footpath for which you will be charged. As they own the footpath, generally, they do not allow anybody else to do this work.
