My Parents have given me 5000 in cash to pay off a Credit Card Bill. Will I be questioned by the bank if I lodge this amo9unt of cash?

Under AML (Anto Money Laundering) legislation there should have been questions asked.

If asked, just tell the truth. You haven't done anything wrong.

Considering parents can gift you up to €250,000 tax-free, it shouldn't be a problem to say it came from your parents if you're asked.

Afterall, you could also have saved it in a mattress or coffee tin. Best to stick to the truth though as it's less to remember in the future :D
