Hi guys, having been injury plagued,im gradually getting back to enjoying my running again. My question is not so much "what" a LSR is but, more so,what length it should be? Should it be a percentage of weekly mileage or just what can be managed comfortably? Cheers in advance

Have read 20/30% of your weekly mileage but this would depend on how much running you were doing prior to injury and how long you have been out for. I'd start back really really easy after injury.

20/30% of weekly mileage is fine for someone doing 7+ runs a week. But what if you are oly doing 3/4 runs a week? 20-30% wouldn't be much of an LSR...

I think once it is longer than your other runs but at an increase of 10% weekly???...

My runs/jogs are 3.5 mile,4 mile and i have a 5mile LSR with a 2.5 recovery run on grass the next day.........works for me just now as i work towards 10k race distance

By weekly mileage,do you include the lsr in that or not?

including the lsr. So if you run 20 miles a week, no more than 10 should be in a single run.

The plan I followed would have been more like 4, 7, 4, 15
