A 10 slice twin pack of this ham is on offer in Tesco for €3 until 12th March.

Edit to say Tesco assistant had to key in the numbers manually as the barcode was to small to scan.

Can you use 2 vouchers on the twin pack?

no, they are packaged together so sold as a single item with a single barcode
if they were on sale as 2 individual packs for E3, then you could 2 coupons, as 2 seperate items with individual barcodes

Does anyone know where Denny ham comes from? It doesn't say anywhere on the packet and its not Bord Bia Approved. It mustn't be Irish at all I'd say. We just presume it is because the name is so familiar. Same with Galtee. Only Brady's and Carroll's have the Bord Bia mark on them as far as I can see.

    History of Denny

    The Brand Story

The Denny name and its association with meat go back a long way together. Henry Denny started trading as a provisions merchant in Waterford in 1820 when he entered a partnership with a long-established general merchant. By the early 1830s his own business had taken hold. He directed almost all his products towards the growing British market using the ‘star’ brand.

In 1880 Henry’s youngest son Edward set up Edward Denny & Co. in London and began expanding internationally – between 1885 and 1900 it had operations in Germany, Denmark and America. Denny’s technological capabilities and marketing expertise helped develop the Danish bacon industry during this time. By the time he died in 1905 Edward Denny was one of the most powerful men in the international meat industry. A defining moment in the brand’s history arrived in 1933 at an International food fair in Manchester. Denny was awarded a gold medal for making the finest sausages, which is now in the Waterford Museum of Treasures. This accolade gave birth to the Denny Gold Medal brand. This medal is a link to one of Ireland’s first multinational companies. Kerry Foods bought out the Irish operation in 1982.

Thanks glic83. I saw that information on their website and while its interesting, it still doesn't say where the meat comes from today. I think its all a bit misleading. It should say on the packaging where all meat is sourced imho.

had the very same conversation yesterday with someone else, who was quite adament that the meat is imported because when the irish pig products were withdrawn from the shelves last year or the year before, they maintained that you could still buy this brand of product as they were not affected by the ban as they were imports

however i do remember at the time of the ban, a local independent supermarket selling pig product at their butcher counter and have not gone back since, as obviously their pig meat was imported at the time

    interesting stuff

did you know that sqeez pineapple juice has a guaranteed irish logo on it, eventhough we don't grow pineapples?

Used this coupon Wednesday, I regret that I didn't enlarge it before printing, the barcode was too small to scan, and the store assistant also called in her superior to ensure that I could use the voucher - I think she thought it was a fake or something!

I know it sounds a bit petty, but if a company goes to all the trouble to provide its consumers with a coupon for its product, could they not ensure that when printed in default mode, it's not blurry or too small.

I see on the Denny's coupon just now," only one coupon per person" I printed off two on different occasions they had different expiry dates on them, I used them already as only this moment I noticed that in the tiny print. Were they ok, the assistant took them no problem but she didn't know I used one the previous week and I hadn't seen this. had I seen it I wouldnt have used a second one. Did any of you use more than one coupon.

I wonder do they read forums like this, I posted previously that it seemed odd that a company should go to all that trouble to give their customers a coupon for their products, only to make them difficult or impossible to redeem! Well done Denny.
