Our dog chewed the buckle and clip on my wife's helmet. Not happy. Really don't want to buy a new helmet for the sake of two plastic fittings. Any idea where I might get replacement buckle and clip in Dublin? The helmet cost around 40 euro.

I got new buckles for my panniers from here on eBay: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/bucklesandwebbingemporium

And had them put on by C&D Shoes, 41 Charlemont St - not cheap but did a good job

Your local cobbler will probably be able to attach them for you.

Anyone anything to add to this, I found that some ignorant pr*ck broke the buckle on my helmet inside the secure area of the public building I work in, this would be the second helmet I'd have to replace because of a problem with the buckle

Looked online at greatoutdoors website and they didn't seem to have anything useful (though maybe if I call in they will)

would be really surprised if you can't get replacement buckles (mine is a Bell helmet), in fact if I was a little bit more cynical I'd say it was because its in the manufacturer's interests for you to have to buy a new helmet

Any good sewing/haberdashery shop will have them - WM Trimmings in Capel Street is one of the better ones around town

I will try them and report back if successful as others are bound to find themselves in this position
