Fox picking sides in Republican primary?

Is it just me or has Fox already picked who they want their presidential candidate to be? Namely Romney.

Either because Fox have been the propaganda voice of the GOP establishment the last few years or because they genuinely believe that Romney has the best chance of beating Obama in November, regardless of what the GOP electorate may or may not think on the issue?

I noticed it from time to time watching the channel. Interviewer often playing Devil's advocate when talking to other candidates and their supporters but softballing Romney and his supporters consistently. Downplaying or ignoring any stories that might reflect on Romney negatively.

While the republican hopefuls have been tearing each other's throats out, fox having been making sure to stay above the fray superficially and continue to stoke the embers on the Obama administration, any negative story/spin with remote significance immediately front page news. But I digress.

What really brought it home to me was how there is no mirror of this story: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/02/20/poll-santorum-lead-expands-nationwide/ on their website. I kept looking and kept waiting but it's nowhere to be found.

It's a significant story because it suggests that republican votes think Santorum can beat Obama just as much as Romney. They are wrong of course.

What do you guys think is Fox's game here?

I'd agree with Memnoch. Whilst I'd admit Mr. Santorum's policies, Fox seemly tilt towards Mr. Romney as he would be more likely to appeal to the swing voter and hence unseat President Obama in the Autumn. The latter candidate has the ability to tweak his position as new facts emerge and also tends to be less maladroit with the media.

The dogs on the streets know fox news is a propaganda outlet for the GOP. It would be mental if they weren't backing the candidate with the most hope of defeating Obama.

You're shocked that Fox is picking sides?

Since 2001 I have changed channels to Fox precisely three times.

Not surprising but not important to anybody who has their brain switched on, which unfortunately is not a lot of people for whatever reason.
