Help remembering a book from childhood

Hi,

I'm having trouble remembering the name of a book I read when I was in my early teens.

The main character was a mouse who had to embark on some sort of adventure. I think there may have been a series of these books.

It was around the mid 1990's when I read the book(s) and I believe they were contempory of that time. They may have been quite popular?

Hopefully this might ring a bell with someone.

Redwall perhaps. I loved the TV series when I was small. Never read the books though.
