Herd Number Expiry Date?

    hi,

    father has had no stock since last may. When would his herd number expire?

    I am thinking of taking it over. Is it possible to put my name also on the number? Or does ths make everything more complicated?

    as far as i know its a matter of filling out a form to be a joint herdowner

    as far as i know it goes dormant,i think its easily resurected

    according to this site if it goes dormant its like having to apply for a new herd number all over again, with all that goes with that.
    So, does anyone know how long after having stock does it take for a herd number to go dormant?

    It goes dormant if you have no stock when your annual test comes up but if you get in touch with dvo and say you intend to buy you will be ok
