    Hi All

I'm going to look at a Navara D40 next week and was wondering what paticular questions I should be asking and what tell tale signs I should be looking for re known issues.

As the Navara is a commercial vehicle does it need an NCT or a DOE test?

It will be DOE no matter how it's registered.

Been a while since anyone asked about a Navarra, don't think anything good was said then! Hopefully you'll get a sensible answer but in the meantime do a search for past threads.

any questions that you could ever want to know about can be answered here

Ask about clutch and flywheel, they can give trouble. There was a issue with the wheels on the newer ones, but a recall was put out and any defected wheels are replaced for free. 4x4 switches/sensors give trouble in the transfer box, make sure you select all modes on test drive (don't drive too far in low range on pavement and definitely don't try and turn in 4 low in pavement. check that there is a spare tyre under the back box, sometimes they get stolen or fall off. Check all the heater modes and a/c, a/c can be expensive to get recharged.

There was a couple of recalls on a few models, make sure if the one you're looking at has been cleared as fit.
