Cartell Report

    Hi,

I did a cartell report on a car i am looking at, the car originally came from the UK and has been in ireland for a year.

the irish report from cartell is fine says everything is in order, the uk report says the following:
    "DISCREPANCY FOUND: Yes
THE MILEAGE READING YOU HAVE ENTERED IS INCONSISTENT WITH OTHER DATA CURRENTLY HELD ON THE NATIONAL MILEAGE REGISTER."

i entered in the current mileage 61k and i presume when it left the UK it was less..

how do they calculate the expected mileage on the UK side? I am unclear as to how they would keep the UK mileage record up to date?

anyone with knowledge around this? should i be worried?
    thanks

From the MOT? Did you input miles or kilometres? Considering the UK is miles?

Do a HPI check on the old UK reg.

Go through the service book and check last service? It may give you an indication of the mileage. If the car was serviced more than once by the garage, give them a bell?

The current owner is gone to check if the service book is there.. Would any discrepancy show up when he was changing the reg over to an Irish reg do ye know?

He doesn't immediately know if there's a service record? I wouldn't rush into anything with that car if I were you.

Current owner goes off to buy service history book from ebay. :pac:

OP, it is very normal for a UK car to have a documented service history as they actually look after their cars. If the service history book is missing then assume the worst and walk away. If it does have a service history then ring the garages in question and ask them about the car and verifty the mileage at the time of maintenance.
