Ive managed to get a cheap return flight to Santiago Chile leaving this Wednesday Feb 22nd and have a week to spend there. Its a pretty short trip and im trying to pack as much as i can into one week. I especially like trekking and mountain cycling. Would anybody who has been to the region be able to suggest an itinerary for the week. Thanks for you help

The Andes mountains will be on your doorstep.

You should be able to get some good views of the snow capped peaks of the Andes from Santiago if it isn't too smoggy/foggy.

You can do a tour of vineyards & wine country from Santiago.

The city of Santiago I thought was a disappointment, I didn't get any great feeling of much happening or the buzz you often get with a capital city.

I thought it was just like residential block after block with the odd office block thrown in.

The city of Valpariso on the Pacific Ocean isn't far from Santiago.

    Enjoy Chile.
