Some bike shops also take trade in's when people are upgrading and some people upgrade for every season so it's worth asking in some shops what they have on offer in the second hand market. There can be good deals here too, and some bikes only having been used for one year or even one season which have only seen 7 - 8 months use.

I find adverts great, really like the way all questions asked are publicly answered etc.

The adverts section in this forum is very good.

if you wanna go into a physical shop and have a look, try Rothar. (www.rothar.ie)

They recycle abandoned and donated bike frames and parts. If they happen to have a frame that suits you, they can build you a bike for a very decent price in about two or three weeks. And you know you'll have brakes 'n' gears that actually work, ya know? It's a nonprofit geared towards promoting cycling in Dublin. Can't reccommend 'em enough.
