    Rooting Noob questions which I am sure has been asked many times before but I have a few questions all rolled in to one

    I am thinking of installing the latest version of CyanogenMod on my HTC Desire.


    • What will the HTC Unlock Bootloader do for me? (http://htcdev.com/bootloader)
    Is this rooting my phone ready for a CyanogenMod Install?

    • do I need to do something else


    • is CyanogenMod a straight forward to install? (Have looked at the wiki and it seems ok but not for the faint hearted)

    • is there a lot of tinkering required with CyanogenMod? (I am sick of messing with the phone and just want something that works and has more space for apps)

    • Do I have to continually update the CyanogenMod version as newer ones become available or will it do it itself?

    • I may be getting a new phone over the next 3 months – will this affect my trade in value or can the phone just be set back to default HTC Sense when I trade it in? (warranty is well over so not worried about that)

    • And finally – is it really worth it (I like the stock HTC Sense and its ease of use and the fact that I have it set up how I like and it requires minimal tinkering)
