can someone advise me please. I adopted two rescue dogs last summer.I already had cat in house but while Ben the jack Russell was curious bout her, theyd gotten to stage where would lie next to each other on couch. Last night I arrived home to find Ben had killed the poor cat.I've gotten over it and don't blame him, just myself for being naive enough to trust leaving them in same room unsupervised. Was just talkin to a friend who has freaked me out-said that Ben has possibly gotten taste for blood and I shouldn't let him alone wit my other dog in case. The jack Russell has always been dog aggressive and barely tolerated my collie.they have fights from day one and these still happen every now and again.he has been growling at her a lot more today so I'm afraid to go to work tomorrow.is there truth in this taste of blood thing.should I be worried?

This should be in the pets forum as it has nothing to do with hunting. Any dog can get grumpy and turn but this "taste of blood" thing is plain daft! Just because a dog kills a cat doesn't make him a hunter IMO and there are probably ten times as many Jack Russells owned by non hunters as they are one of the most popular breeds for older folks as companions.

nothing to do with hunting/shooting. Tragic events happen when pet owners dont know how to control their pets.Sorry to here about your loss.Think this is wrong place;)

Never heard of such rubbish "Taste of blood" I have a dog and one cat sleeps in the box with him all the time. If he sees the other Cat he chases it, all stemming back to when as a pup the dog got it across the nose for annoying the same Cat. Put it simple Cats and Dogs will get on if they are brought up with each other. Its not a good idea to introduce a different animal to the mix when one doesn't know it's temperament.
