Just another which bike to buy thread? I was into cycling years ago and now I haven't a clue about the kit.

I'm upgrading from a Trek 1000, Sora, Tiagra, w carbon fork. Its been a great bike but I have a cycle to work tax refund burning a hole in my pocket.

Dont know if I need full carbon as its never going to be raced and I'm concerned about the durability of carbon.

    €1400 to spend.

    option 1. Corratec Dolmiti Ultegra € 1299
option 2. Boardman team carbon, 105, €1624 (will be reduced to 1450 or so if I wait)
option 3. get a bike custom built on an Olmo frame (carbon fork and stays) with full 105 kit at Jimmy Humphries for €1400
    4. kTM 3000, Ultegra w carbon fork, €1400

All have Mavic rims. I like the heritage of the Olmo (w Carbon Stays & option to spec individual items )but the Corratec with the Ultegra looks good.

The Boardmans are getting great write ups but I haven't seen any at the club..
