    Hi guys,
I would like to cancel my Sky subscription but does anyone know if I can do this by email? and if so what would be the correct email address to use?
I ask because I'm hard of hearing

    Thanks

I rang them to cancel last week because it was becoming more than I could afford. Was put through to a nice chap who persuaded me to stay. My monthly bill is down by €17 a month to include HD and the free installation is happening next week.

What I'm trying to say is, if cost is your issue, get someone to negotiate for you as the phone is quickest. I don't know about e mail

Their online help is pretty good. Someone will reply instantly (akin to instant messenger) to sort out your cancellation. Otherwise phone is probably your only option. I dont think you can cancel by email.

Just ring them up, leave it till late in the evening so the queue won't be that long. I cancelled sports that way last week. Didn't get any offers. I don't think email would work as they have to go through some security questions.

OP is hard of hearing, all he needs do is ring Sky and confirm who he is then put a nominated person on the phone to speak on his behalf.

As was said by OldYouth,he might even get a good deal from them to stay;)

What's the phone number you used for this?

The number they want people to us is 0818719819 and then follow the prompts.

They (Sky) rang me a few days ago to make me an offer as I had cancelled my sub and the number was a free phone number - 1800 806807. No idea if that will work or not but at least it's free :)

Thanks for all the replies folks :) I might chance my arm with an email first and see how it goes.

My experience with the process was quite simple if that helps.

I cancelled today, I've had a Sky account for about 10 years.
Currently I have multiroom and had movies for the kids until 2 months ago and previously had Sports (pre kids when I had a life).
    time on call
get through to the right menu and holding for a Sky Rep: 1:30
Was asked why I was going, I said I was going to Free to Air
the rep asked if I was going to Saorview, I said yes
then I was asked how many people in the house watched Sky.
Which confused me more than anything (perhaps they were thinking about shared accommodation..)
I was then offered a reduction on the costs if that would help keep me on.
I said no thanks that the savings were going towards the equipment.
    Time now about 3:30
I was put on hold for another 4 minutes while this was 'processed'
    all done
    Total time was 7m 30secs

Did they say what the actual reduction would be?

I knew that someone would ask that :-)
sorry Muffler, I didn't want to give them the impression that I was just looking for a reduction, I really do want to remove Sky from my list of bills.
I bought a Saorview aerial and a combo box, in 4-5 months time I'll have saved money, for the sake of a few channels, I think it's a good move.

I cancelled about a month ago and its due to be turned off on 14th March. I was offered a 25% reduction for six months

Took me about 15 minutes to actually get them to confirm my cancelling my subscription yesterday, they seem desperate to hold on to people and realise they're pricing themselves out of the market.

Netflix USA + Broadband + Freesat HD with a multi LNB FTW really.
