    Hi
Hope someone may be able to help, my wife and i are building a new home, we have fitted a waterford stanley brandon oil cooker, we have also installed a solid fuel stove with a boiler, both are connected with a systemlink manifold and control system, there is 4 zones, living area, downstairs bedrooms and upstairs and hot water, these are controled by 3 wall stats with built in timers, my plumber is a good plumber and was highly recommended to us and the heating system heats the house well

    My questions are this
1 the stanley can heat the hot water sperate from the heating but the wiring drawing the plumber gave the electrion which he got from system link says that the hot water and heating must be left on permanently on the stanley and to be controled by the wall stats , this means that we can only heat water if one of the heating zones is on and the boost and advance buttons cant work on the cooker,is there no way to heat water without having the heating on

2 there is a pipe stat on the stove with when u turn the dail can turn on and off the stanley like a switch , is this ment to happen

3 is there a better way to operate a system like this other that systemlink system

    Thanks for any advice

Im not a plumber but I do have the systemlink setup. There are 4 zones so its same as yours. In my setup there are 5 circulating pumps, one for each zone and the other is fitted to the cold or bottom pipe between the manifold and the boiler. In my setup hot water is priority so the water in the cylinder heats up without having any of the zone circulating pumps on.My plumber also told me I have to have rads on and not controlled by a stat so the rads in living area are switched on when the pipe stat at the back of the range switches on.Its a pain in summer as if you have a fire on the rads are on as well.so when the pipe stat cuts in the circulating pump on the bottom pipe to range and the circulating pump to zone1 both come on together.

It sounds like your system is not set up correctly for your needs.
    1. You should be able to heat the hot water separately without any problem - Depends on the plumbing but it should be just a bit of wiring
    2. That is correct - It is done so that when the stove is pumping heat into the system the Stanley doesn't fire at the same time. If it is set correctly this should only occur when the stove is up to temperature
    3. I don't think you need a better way, just sort the issues and they work well!
