Since yesterday I have had squiggly lines across the screen on my TG4 picture on analogue from Clermont Carn. It is on both my TVs and a friend who lives nearby has the same problem. Not on Sky or DTT (Saorview) but only on analogue. Any one else having this problem?

In many locations the DTT signal is broadcasted next to where TV3 AND TG4 and it interferes with the Analog signal...so highly likely thats your problem...

You're right re channel allocation from CC for RTE1 (C52 analogue) with C53 for DTT but interesting that this only started yesterday and only on TG4 analogue which is C68 analogue and well away from DTT allocation.

Can you post a photo of the interference (if it's still there)?

We get interference quite regularly on TG 4 but it only seems to happen on Sundays and it has only been happening the last year or so. Last time it happened was when TG 4 were covering a GAA match in Armagh and the picture was unwatchable, I thought this was a tactic to stop locals from watching on TV and go to the stadium instead to spend money!

Sorry I'm not that technical yet but 2 lots of squiggly lines - one near the top of the picture and one near the bottom. These are constant and don't come and go. They've appeared since Saturday and haven't disappeared since. I should say I've a masthead amp to pick up ROI stations and even when amp is turned off the lines still appear albeit through a very grainy picture. Regarding Paddy C's interference I wonder is that anything to do with the army base nearby?

So it's 2 sets of horizontal lines? Do they move slowly up or down the screen?

Seems similar to what I'm getting from the Monaghan transmitter, which relays Clermont afaia.

I'd tried taking a pic myself but my reception is pretty ropey & the patterning just gets lost in the general picture noise.

Yes they are horizontal (I should have said that) and moving slightly up and down.

Just on my own tv now, 2 bands of flickering horizontal lines moving slowly up the screen, a bit like 'hum bars' but only TG4 affected. I'm sure it's far more noticeable & annoying if you have decent reception to begin with.

Contact details for fault reporting are here.

Many thanks - have sent e mail and you're absolutely right re decent reception as the pictures of 4 ROI stations here (Moira Co. Down) is generally crystal clear. At least I can get clear TG4 via both Sky and DTT.
