    Hey everyone,
I'm in my final year of college and plan to head somewhere next May where I can earn money which will allow me go to Australia or south America. I was in London last summer and came home with over 2000 pounds which isn't bad for a student and all. I could get work again in London but with the olympics on, rent will be steep and on top of that I don't really want to go there again. Does anyone have any ideas of somewhere else around Europe where money can be made. Any sort of work at all. Saw an ad in a paper looking for people to lay tarmac in Spain but don't know how genuine that might be..
    All suggestions/advice welcome.
    Cheers

OP wait until this Summer and
    1) Go to Dublin
    2) Take random journeys on various bus routes (although the 46A to Dun Laoghaire is probably your best bet) until you encounter a drunkard dispensing unsolicited advice.
    3) ?
    4) PROFIT!

How about starting up your own business in Ireland?

If you're enterprising enough to want to ask this question, you might be enterprising enough to make money on a short stint at your own business this Summer.

Just become a banker, your legally allowed to rob anyone you met on the street and the government will send you more money the worse you do at your job.

You can just print it at home. Make sure it's photo paper though. Also crinkle it a bit or someone might catch on

Shetland Islands, North Sea oil rings, Norway, Sweeden, Denmark, depends on what work you are looking for OP. A guy I know just finished his training as a paramedic and is off to work on one of the oil rigs as their chief paramedic

That could be a good call, not exactly the most appealing but I want something different alright in a non english speaking country, keen to learn a new language!

Ya I suppose but I don't like using my brain :(

Contemplating Holland, on top of all the crazy stuff you can do over there, it also seems to have the lowest unemployment rate in europe!

Doing what, out of curiousity? Two grand sterling seems alot for a non qualified unskilled worker to save in 3 months in a city as as expensive as London (and with a sh1te min wage).

They're so crazy they're all in full-time employment thanks to an excellent attendance record and willingness to adhere to the kind of strict regulation that ensures the smooth sailing of the corporation/government institution that pays their modest, yet comfortable wage? That kind of crazy?

Well to be honest it was 2500 and I must have only worked for about 9 weeks. I was working saturdays and didn't get taxed, only had to pay my national insurance. I was an unskilled labourer on the olympic site, not so bad when I look back on it.

Holland doesn't seem to be that strict at all actually. The only thing they appear to be very strict on is that you don't work more then 45 hours a week.. Having been there before I found the place to be pretty elegant & sophisticated (in comparison to Ireland anyway and excluding the Red Light District of Amsterdam). But the craziness I was on about was clubbing, smoking, riding, etc, at the weekends and working during the week. Happy days! Oh ya and a bit of saving :/
