Hi Guys, I am thinking of doing P4 Advanced Financial Management, I got exemptions for the earlier stages to cover the the F papers, and I reckon you would need some knowledge of these to sit P4, but is there any lecturer in the Dublin region, who teaches P4 by starting with the very basics without prior knowledge ? and also has a record of getting a very good pass rate for their students ?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

P4 follows from F9 which I was exempt from so was also in a similar position to you before sitting the P4 exam in December.. Some of the stuff covered (e.g. Black & Scholes) I had covered in college but was well forgotten..

Got lectures from Liam Doran in Independent Colleges & would definitely recommend him to anyone interested in lectures for P4. There is a lot in P4 so a bit of work will be required but I found the lectures & material a lot more interesting than any other topic I have studied for ACCA..

Thanks for the reply, is P4 one of the most difficult optional subjects to sit ? Just noticed there is a low pass rate and I was wondering would Liam Doran get a good pass rate for his class

P4 is the only one of the options I have done so far so hard to say (doing P7 in June).. but from what I see there is no easy option.. fellow student told me P5 was meant to be the easiest of the 4 options but look at the Dec pass rate (29%)..

As far as I know Liam Doran has a high pass rate for his classes.. I found the topic interesting as I could relate parts of it to my work.. If you are working in funds / financial services then I think you should be aiming to do P4.. you will certainly find it easier to sit down & study this topic than for example P5..
