Question about Free Fees

I'm in my first year of Nutritional Science in UCC but I'd like to drop out after this year and study Law instead, but obviously the prospect of having to pay 6 grand next year is a major deterrent. But as Law is only a 3 year course, I'd still only be spending 4 years in college, and I was told that since it wouldn't be costing the government any more money I may not have to pay the 6 grand after all. They weren't sure about this though, and I was wondering if anyone here could confirm whether that's true or not? Thank you :)

You would have to pay the fees in full for first year

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
