    1. What is your budget? 550

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming and internet. Would like it to be upgradeable over the next number of years.

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? I'll get a student copy of Win7.

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? no

    5. Do you need a monitor? No,I'll buy one 2nd hand

5a. If yes, what size do you need.

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future?

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals?
    Wireless is needed

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? yes, if not too difficult.

    8. How can you pay?
    However

    9. When are you purchasing?
    Ready to buy now

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based?
    Cork

This would be a first build for someone clueless. I hear its like putting lego together. 500gb hard drive would be big enough.Advice appreciated.

Deconduo posted this a few weeks ago for someone else:

    Item Price
    8GB-Kit A-Data Value PC3-1333 CL9 €33.59
    Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB, SATA II (HD502HJ) €73.00
Samsung SH-222AB bare schwarz SATA €16.02
    BenQ G2225HD €100.98
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W €41.99
    ASRock H61M-HVS (B3), Sockel 1155, mATX €41.81
    Intel Core i3-2120 Box, LGA1155 €109.25
    Sapphire HD6770 1G GDDR5 PCI-E €86.90
    DIGITUS Wireless 150N USB 2.0 adapter, 150Mbps (DN-7045) €5.34
    Subtotal: €508.88 + €30 shipping
    Windows 7 - €45.45

    Total €584.33

With the new graphics cards just out, is this the best build at this price? If I dropped the monitor(and bought one 2nd hand), where do you recommend I put the extra 60 euro.

Yep that would be perfect. The new GPUs that are out aren't worth it right now so the 6770 is still the best budget choice.
