Was just wonderin about the way Donovan, Becks, Keane and Henry have went on loan durin the MLS off season would or have any Prem League players go on loan over to the MLS or other leagues durin the Prem League off season providing they dont have international commitments durin the summer??

Was also thinkin about La Liga and Serie A would any of their players go on loan for the few weeks winter break they have. Wouldnt mind gettin Ronaldo back for the tough christmas fixtures:pac:

PL players get paid too much to bother doing that.

They do get paid too much for it but im sure some clubs could afford it for a month or so

Would contradict the whole point of having the winter break.

I get that but surely if they were paid enough some players might be tempted

I doubt any player playing in a European-wide tournament would be able to.

would it not be like going on loan like any other player except for the fact it'd only be for a couple of weeks instead of 6 monthsor whatever i'm sure the club that owns the player would be worried about injury and that kinda stuff. ok man utd might not get ronaldo or messi but othe rclubs might get lets say lesser players shall we say. Might help someone in a relegation battle to cough up a few quid to pay someone for the few weeks or somethin to that effect. Obviously that player they get on loan might not score or whatever but i suppose its a risk you take like loaning any other player

Send the youths over, providing they would get game time and have no commitments to any national competitions. Would be good for their development to also play in another league.

I think part of the reason those players are allowed go on loan in the first place is to bring a bit more attention to the MLS and get other countries interested in it.

I myself see it a huge risk of burning players out, that's why
    1. I find it odd that it's allowed in the first place
    2. European teams will never allow it to happen with their players

It does happen, Larsson joining ManU for a few weeks in 2007 springs to mind

MLS players are able to because they play maybe 20 games less a season overall in comparison to EPL players and also play at a significantly lower intensity.

An EPL player needs his rest in the Summer.
