I passed this spot shortly before it happened and then just after. I asked a bystander what had happened, and he didn't know, but he ventured that cyclists should be banned from that street. A real humanitarian. The bike was under an SUV, quite badly damaged. It was the bit of Abbey street that is open to cars (and bikes) just east of the Rhodes D7 restaurant, heading towards the restaurant.

I also saw a bike being loaded into an ambulance on Wolfe Tone Quay on Wedneday evening. I rarely seen anything worse than a simple fall, so I hope this is just a statistical anomaly.
