So I started a thread here a while back about a new car, I said I wanted a sporty hatch, small engined etc. I still haven't found anything I am happy with so I have broadened the spectrum to pretty much anything.

    It must be:

Economical, currently doing 45mpg+ in a polo would need to be as good or better.

Have a nice cabin, I spend atleast 2 hrs a day in the car so I want to be comfortable in there. Also some electric windows and central locking would be nice!

A bit of fun, would be nice to have something that keeps me entertained on bendy roads.

    Budget: 4k
    Mileage: 4-500 miles per week.
Petrol or diesel, I don't mind as long as it makes sense financially.

something like this http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2982234 came to mind. obviously not this one due to budget. a leon cupra would also be similar but again rare

Thanks I was looking at the cupra's but like you said rare, and it doesn't really make sanse for me, The Fabia however does so I will throw it on the short list.

then of course theres the 320d...you wont find a 2004+ for your budget so you would have to look for turbo issues.

    or something like this http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3026988

a 525d e39 or 530d might also do. not sure of your feelings on tax

Small comfy hatchback, economical, yep, your offerings are a perfect match !

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Like I said a student with low disposable income, so can't be going crazy. I can currently tax the polo for €185 a year, which is great but I am sick to the eye teeth of it. I wouldnt be interested in anything over a 1.9 for tax reasons, no point in having a car I cant afford to tax. Thanks for the suggestions.
