Hopefully the team will take this seriously and we can avoid any slip ups. We need to be more switched on than we were at Watford. Am not sure of team news but am guessing Harry will go pretty strong to make sure of advance to Quarter finals as Wembley draws closer. I would love to win this cup this year, has been too long since we have. COYS!!!!!!!!!

I reckon he'll rest allot for one more round. Then gun for it. I think a strong second 11 should have more then enough.

of course it will be a 2nd string side considering we have the gooners away next week but our 2nd string is a bit stronger than most.i expect to see something like......
    cudicini
    walker
    dawson
    nelson
    rose
    lennon
    livermore
    kranjar
    gio
    saha
    defoe
this team together with a strong bench (just in case)of bale, modric adebayor etc should be enough to get us into the next round.i'll say 0-2 defoe and saha with the goals.

IMO cant see Rose or Gio starting, we take these guys lightly at our peril. It is fair enough to assume maybe Brad, Bale and King might be rested but apart from that I think it will be near full strength. Remember Harry did play Modric and Ade against Watford.

Saha and Ade were so good together last week I hope HR plays them again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,537 ✭✭✭dabbler2004

Team news, no Modric or Ade
We've just got the team in and it looks as
though we'll be playing three centre-backs.
    Team to face Stevange: Cudicini; Walker;
    Dawson; Kaboul; Nelsen; Rose; Livermore;
    Parker; Bale; Defoe; Saha. SUBS: Friedel;
    Lennon; Kranjcar; King; Khumalo; Dawkins;
    Luongo.

Or Kaboul right back with rose left back and Kyle right mid?

    Cudicini
    Dawson --- Nelson --- Kaboul
    Walker --- Parker --- Livermore --- Bale --- Rose
    Defoe --- Saha

    According to UTV, interesting.

BBC Sport's Phil McNulty on Twitter at the Lamex Stadium: "Spurs' fans opening salvo: "Arsene Wenger - we want you to stay". :D:D:D

It's difficult to say at the moment which team is in the Premiership! Terrible long balls, poor control, bad passing, etc - Spurs are not showing much intensity so let's hope that doesn't end up biting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,747 ✭✭✭irishmover

How **** are Spurs so far in this game......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Poor so far ****ty chants by stevenage about Bale but we have been way to defensive

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,994 ✭✭✭KingdomYid

We need to start playing in the 2nd half or we could be in trouble. I never like when we dont play our strongest 11 available, we never look as good with a couple out.

3 centre backs, 2 defensive midfielders. No creativity... Would swear we're playing Barcelona and are parking the bus.

playing terrible so we are... Rose has been brilliant, but for the most part, terrible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,994 ✭✭✭KingdomYid

Roy Keane has got it spot on, the players are not focused and are not at the races. Bloody hell sort it out sharpish Spurs

One example of when the offside rule is completely and utterly stupid.

No it's not  He's offside. End of.

    Cudicini is muck.

There was no other outcome but the ball in the goal. There was no benefit from the position Parker was in. Again, at times the offside rule is utterly stupid.

This is so bloody frustrating to watch. It's like they've forgotten how to pass the ball!!

Shows how much we rely on Adebayor and Modric. Then again, what else could we expect from playing 3 centre backs and 2 defensive midfielders.

Should park the bus at WHL too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Very poor we struggled on the pitch and with the formation, but should progress to the next round in the replay dissapointed to get an extra game to play though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,994 ✭✭✭KingdomYid

F*cking muck from Spurs, not at all acceptable in fairness.

I think that's as bad a result as we could have gotten today. I think i'd rather lose than have another game added to the schedule. Really poor by us, and when teams really come at us physically, we can really struggle.

    Awful game to watch.

Shocking stuff, absolutely shocking. Dawson had an absolute mare, along with Bale, but special praise goes out to Defoe who, despite being on the pitch for 90 minutes, didn't manage one meaningful pass or attempt on goal. Rubbish. We really could've done without the extra game but should deal with them easily enough in the replay.

Aww no way man, we are in the hat. A loss would have been a disaster, as we can win this cup if we actually decide to turn up and play.

Bolton at home if we beat Stevenage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Well that's a decent draw, assuming we get past Stevenage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,467 ✭✭✭mushykeogh

I dont think an extra game will make too much difference to us. Its not as if we have been severely stretched with games since december?

A horrible pitch, super motivated players out to make a name for themselves, il gladly take a draw and a chance to take them at the lane.

Ah these kind of days happen, luckily we got out of it. I really hope we go at this now cause there is nobody left who in that draw who I wouldn't fancy us against.

    We'll stuff 'em at home.

Ok, maybe slightly pesimistic, but I'm just not that bothered with the cup this year. Champions league football is all i'm concerned with at the moment, and the last thing we need is another tie against a tough lower division team with nothing to lose.

Of course i'd love to win it, but it's not the priority at the moment.

I am sorry but totally disagree with this attitude. We have a serious shout at putting silverware in the cabinet and you are not bothered. These players are paid enough damn money to play twice in a week. This club is steeped in FA cup tradition and we can do both you know. Fair enough you are entitled to your opinion but to say not bothered with the FA cup is not an opinion that would be shared by many.

We can easily finish third and win the cup this season. Stevenage and Bolton and we are in semis. This is the easiest cup in years

We were terrible today but it's no big deal. We will ki them at the lane

Oh don't mind me. It's just hard not to be negative after games like that.

I'll be my usual positive (less negative?) self tomorrow.

Poor performance, but in years gone by, we wouldn't have been in the draw this evening, but we hung on to live another day. 2 home wins and it's a semi final in wemberley...COYS

Dawson is only back 2-3 games and Im already fed up of those stupid long punts to no one in particular..

That's more like it,I was happy to hear the final whistle today and bring this crowd back to the lane,of course we can finish 3rd and do well in the FA cup at the same time.Great draw for the next round aswell, our name is on that cup this year I'm telling ye.:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,133 ✭✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

    Look at it this way.

If liverpool are good enough to finish the season with silverware in the trophy cabinet (assuming they will next week), they we bloodly well better get our act together and make a good go at the FA Cup!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,747 ✭✭✭irishmover

Surely at this stage of the competition with a home draw against Bolton in the quarter finals (if we get over Stevenage in replay) and with the teams left in the competition Harry has to be thinking about winning the cup.

In fairness, he has said for a good while now, that he thinks we have a great chance to go all the way now with so many of the top sides out. We have played poorly at Watford and Stevenage and are still 2 homes wins from a semi final at wembley, nothing wrong with that.

In saying all that, we all had us in the final when we played pompey in 2010 and got beat 2 zip so let not get too cocky.
