I was just setting up a broadband dongle on Ubuntu 11.04 yesterday, and I'm pretty certain there was an option for 3.

I was pleasantly surprised at how eat it was for me, I assume it would be as easy for 3.

cheers Tom. what dongle did you install yourself ( just in case I need to get one to test with). had you any problems with anything else? I've installed Ubuntu before as a dual boot, but never really used it. am interested to see how it goes on a clean install

You may not be able to easily get your hands on the dongle I used - it's a Saudi Telecom Huwei 180. :D

Actually, I was very surprised Ubuntu had the settings for the device, it was very much plug and play.

Having said that, a year or two ago I used a Vodafone dongle without problem on Ubuntu.

I installed ubuntu on the PC over the weekend, plugged in the dongle and it recognised it straight away so got the broadband connected. Was a welcomed suprise!
