I'm looking to see if anyone has a copy of the Gormanstown win in the Leinster Colleges Senior Football Championship final in 1972 against Patrician College, Ballyfin.

A relative of mine played in it and he said RTE televised it but I rang them up and they don't have a copy.

I know its a long shot but he played well in the final and would love to see the game.

You'd be very lucky to get your hands on this. Home video recorders had barely been invented in 1972 so nobody in Ireland would have had one at that stage. Whether anybody got hold of a copy in later years is hard to know.

Good luck with it anyway, let us know if you do manage to get it. But I honestly don't fancy your chances.

Presume it's Gormanston in Stamullen you're talking about. Maybe get in contact with the college. If they don't have it they may be able to put you in contact with some past pupils or staff from around that time who may have it.
    Best of luck.

I know the nephew of the Gormanston Goalie I think, Andy or Liam Murry? Will ask him if I see him tomorrow at work, I usually do. Mind you I thought the final was later than that 74/75 or did Gormanston play in a few finals?

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Gormanstown were actually in the first 6 finals of the 70's and won 4 of them.

I knew it'd be tough to get but you never know.

    Fingers crossed
