Warner Bros has committed to a follow up film for 'I Am Legend' possibly starring Will Smith. Not supposed to be a prequel so i wonder how they'll pull this one out of the bag considering he's
ment to have died in the first film original ending...

I can't wait to see how they explain that.

20/1 It was all a dream

    17/2 He's Hancock

9/1 He was immune to the virus and thus invincible.*

    4/1 He's a legend :D:rolleyes::)

*(So he can have unprotected sex):pac:

Maybe they could base it on this:

This is one time a reboot /reimagining / remake would be welcome.

Warner Bros / Converse present: I Am Legend 2: Mystery of the Lost Product Placement Product

Also - something about time travel.

i enjoyed the film and it's a good stand alone film.
but the book is so much more, yeah so a reboot based on book would be brilliant.

Thanks, always like to know what's going to happen in a film before I see it.

Not sure why you'd risk coming into a thread about the sequel of a film if you haven't seen the first one

Quoting the spoiler never helps :pac:

But yeah - there does have to be some sort of reasonable 'expiry date' for spoilers, especially in a thread about a sequel to a five year old film. In a general thread, where one might not 'expect' a spoiler - certainly cause for complaint. But definitely worth exercising caution when it comes to threads about sequels when you haven't seen the original. Only so long we can be expected to wait before discussing things openly!

    Brilliant response.

Enough. If you can't play nice, don't play at all.

theres an alternate ending to that film where will smiths character survives, the woman, child and himself make it to the settlement ala the original ending. Could take up from there , bit unlikely tho, or else someone comes across the recording he made of his research ?

Sorry ,i probably should of copped about the spoiler alert (Thanks johnny ultimate!)
Anyway, dont think they'd be able to spawn a sequel from the version with the alternate ending because the original ending was the one that went on general release so its the most well known.
Cool idea of found footage he'd recorded during the first film though, maybe
the dog will make a reappearance too!

After three loose adaptations I'd love to see the likes of Darren Aronofsky or Alex Proyas finally making a faithful adaptation of Richard Matheson's book where Robert Neville is finally portrayed as the true villain of the piece.

    "Come out Neville!"

I'd rather they just made a video-review explaining in painstaking detail exactly why Matheson's novel is awful. Point #1: There's a major continuity error on about the third page...and it goes downhill from there.

Been a long while since I read the book. Would you mind explaining the error in spoilered text?

Switches between evening and morning in the same scene, IIRC. Not a major thing really, but it happens so early in the novel that it really threw me; and in a story where daytime/nighttime is so significant, it's a real dropped-the-ball moment.

Deary me, I completely missed that. I'm willing to forgive it mind you as I think overall it's a great wee read and has the potential, in the right hands, to be a great film.
