    Oral caller ..

Dont really know the options but I need one.

    Bait.

A gutted bunny / bread with 2-4 decoys do the trick?.

    Time.

i notice crows about on a rainy day.. Loads in fact where I go. Is there any time of day that suits best?.

Shooting in a field at the edge of a wood where they go into roost is great shooting as they are flying in but crows are out of season now unless you are shooting over crops to protect them.

As far as I'm aware no decoys are allowed to lure in crows - I presume that includes stuffed fox, plastic owl decoy, plastic kestrel decoy & crow decoys.

I wonder does a dead rabbit strategically placed count as a decoy & therefore not allowed?

I didn't know there was a season on crows, are they not completely protected bar there causing crop damage which then can be then shot.

Sam Neyts crow callers is what you need.

I bought mine directly off him, sound lad and he even fixed mine after the dog had got hold of it for a while.

I can forward you on his email address if you want

Heres the result of 2 days i spent using it.

Are they not covered by the derogation?

Yes - they can be shot in and around crops at any time of the year.

They do but birdnuts said they can be shot all year round over crops under derogation.

The criteria are crop and livestock protection and disease prevention as far as I know, so for example grey crows and magpies around a field with lambs is perfectly ok.
