    Hi
I have noticed on my p60 that the gross pay for USC charge is 3130E more then my total pay I( which is oulined in the A part of the p60) my tax was worked out on this figure but my usc has been worked out on a much higher figure...

Can anyone tell me why that would have happened? I am jointly assessed with my husband, but he is paying USC. I was ill for a few weeks last year not paid from work and was claiming illness benefit.. but that only totalled about 800E

I checked my P60 with my december payslip and that had my cumulative earnings as the samw figure that my tax was calculated on.. I definitely did not earn the "extra" 3130E??

The USC is charged on gross income not taxable income. The 3130 is probably pre tax deductions like pension contributions etc. Your P60 pay figure is your taxable income and the USC pay figure is your gross income.
